FauNature - Brnging You and Wildlife Together
Habitat Box Project
A range of Habitat / Nest Boxes built and decorated by local students will be exhibited in the West Torrens Auditorium throughout August as part of the South Australia Living Artists (SALA). The program was initiated and organized by the Michelle Mitolo, Community Development Officer for the City of West Torrens.
The Habitat Box Project engaged 150 local school students from Plympton Primary, West Beach Primary and Warriappendi Schools with assistance from members from the Western Wood Workers group. James Smith of fauNature delivered the environmental expertise, necessary for the project to realise its educational aims.
fauNature also assisted the Western Wood Workers and Torrens Council in developing appropriate designs for the possum, parrot and bat boxes that were built by the students.
The Habitat Boxes will be officially unveiled in the West Torrens Auditorium Gallery on Wednesday the 12th of August, at 5pm. The Gallery is situated at 1 Brooker Tce, Hilton.
Further information on nesting boxes is available in the Attracting Wildlife section of the fauNature website. While the range of fauNature Nest Boxes can be seen at our on-line shop.
